Welding & Construction

Cleve’s brother Eugene taught him to weld and Cleve worked in Staten Island’s shipyards as a welder. He also independently did steel fabrication projects for private parties, making custom trailers for hauling everything from motorcycles to automobiles. Cleve also designed and welded wood stoves and got UL approval for his prototype. He and Jude bought property in Towanda, PA in the Seventies and Cleve gathered scrap lumber and building materials and built a beautiful house without a blueprint. They intended to move there, but eventually sold it and moved to Washington DC after living for several years in African countries.
